8 foreign universities want to set up international campus in India

Survey 43 international level universities participated
A survey was participated by  43 international level universities. Of these 16 said that they are not considering any campus setup in India, and another 16 said that they have not taken any decision on it. At the same time, eight universities showing interest claimed that they want to start their venture for Indian students.

Eight International Universities Interested in Campus Setup in India
According to the report, all eight respondents indicated that India has to set up  International Branch Campus  It should be ‘definitely considered’ as a potential destination     He said that there is a need for a liberal regulatory framework to improve the attractiveness of India. This is of particular importance as the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 had recommended allowing only ‘top’ 100 category universities in the World University Rankings to be allowed to operate in India.

Waiting for government rules and regulations to be enacted
Unit for International Co Operation NIEPA K Deputy Adviser Aldho Mathews, "Contrary to popular view, top category foreign universities are also interested in setting up of their campuses in India. but most of them are following wait and watch because of government regulations and Laws are yet to be made.”
