Patna: Bihar Health Department’s Additional Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit addressed a virtual press conference on Wednesday during the Corona period. During this, on the one hand, he gave information about the number of people who died of corona in the state. On the other hand, while giving information about the negligence regarding the number of dead, he talked about action against the careless health workers.

During the press conference, Pratyaya Amrya said that it was everyone’s desire to know how many people died due to corona in the state. The High Court had also ordered in this regard. Therefore, on 18 May, the work of preparing the report of the death figures was started by forming a team in two ways. A three-member team was formed at the Medical College Hospital, which prepared the records of deaths in the hospitals. At the same time, the second team prepared the report of those dead who died while being taken to other places like isolation center, home isolation, covid care center and on the way to the hospital.

Additional Chief Secretary said that till May 8, 9375 people have died due to corona in Bihar. Whereas till June 7, this figure was only 5424. In such a situation, questions began to arise that how the figure increased by 3951 in one day. Giving clarification on this matter, Pratyaya Amrit said that there were many people who were left out. In such a situation, the right people have been added after checking.

Action will be taken against negligent workers

Holding the health workers responsible, he said that there has been a lapse in their level. In such a situation, action is being taken against them. At the same time, action will be taken against those whose negligence will come to the fore. This is a very sensitive matter and every district should have taken special care. Reports should have been sent regularly. There were challenges during the Corona period, but the report should have been sent on time.

The purpose is to provide government benefits

He said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar says that the first right on the state’s funds belongs to the disaster victims. With this thought in mind, we got the investigation done. The process was started from May 18. 10 days time given. Time extended due to non-completion of work. Now on the basis of the report that has come out, benefits will be given to the victims. The aim is only one that the government benefits should reach those who are really suffering.
