When Gopal Krishna took the UPSC exam for the first time, he passed the pre exam but got stuck in the mains. In the second attempt also reached the interview round but the name did not figure in the final list. In the third attempt, he passed the examination but on the basis of rank 786, he was selected for the Indian Audit and Accounts Services. He had to become an IAS officer, so he took the exam one more time. This time luck favored him and in the year 2017, he achieved All India Rank 265. In this way his journey to become an IAS was completed.
